These retro looking DC Bombshells Pops were first inspired in 2011, when artist Ant Lucia developed a few prints that soon soared in popularity. You guessed it: these prints were DC heroines designed to match the classic pin-up girls of the era.

Harley Quinn Funko Pop
The details on the DC Bombshells Funko Pops are what really set them apart. Look at Harley Quinn’s makeup: she has eyeshadow and rouged cheeks to go with her ghostly white face. A little diamond beauty mark truly sets the tone that this is THE Harley Quinn.

Ah, Wonder Woman, the epitome of female strength in the face of oppression. This is why it comes as no surprise that her DC Bombshells Pop design seems to closely resemble Rosie the Riveter. Rosie was the name of a woman drawn in a campaign to recruit women workers, and has been co-opted to show off the strength of women in general.

Batgirl Funko Pop
Batgirl has quite a bit of flare in her pose, really shaking up the idea that Funko Pops all fit into the same few boring positions. She’s holding out the edge of her cape so that we can admire the details of the folds, and has goggles that manage to not make her face look weird overall, which can sometimes be a concern with pops.
This DC Bombshells Pop really makes a statement because it still feels like a classic Batgirl while incorporating the flirty attitude of 1940s pinup girls. Batgirl reveals a bit of stomach beneath her corseted top, and crisscrossed straps adorn her thighs. Her look is super detailed in her fun, bright purple and yellow colors.
The high heeled boots and beauty mark only do more to add to this retro looking Pop, and the light eyeshadow around her eyes feels like a really consistent touch. She doesn’t really have to have it since there are giant goggles encasing her face, but the attention to detail makes this Pop even more attractive.

Katana Funko Pop
Instead of trying to force Katana to conform to the same retro ideals as the other DC Bombshells Pops, they instead kept her in classic Japanese regalia which is nice nod to her heritage. This was a great way to set her apart from the other Bombshells Pops and give some special flare and attention to her design.
This choice really left its mark, because she looks great with her classic mask slimmed down into a sweet looking Geisha throwback. The touch of eyeshadow around her eyes brings a nice depth and mark of care to her overall look, while still making sure to fit with the retro themes of the DC Bombshells designs.
Of course, this wouldn’t be a DC Katana Funko Pop if she wasn’t wielding her blade the Soultaker. Fierce and feminine, this Katana sports a lovely modern kimono design, revealing a hint of form was also still being practical enough for all her samurai moves. Hot and badass? The Joker (With Kisses) Funko Pop
Not necessarily a bombshell, this line wouldn’t be complete with a Joker to stand up next to his precious Harley Quinn. We’ve got a sly, love struck looking Joker here with heavy lidded eyes and a mitten grin on his face. It’s easy to imagine that he’s looking at his retro Harley right now, especially as he is covered in a million lipstick printed kisses.

This DC Bombshells Pop really transforms Supergirl into a star; seriously, she looks like a 1940s starlet ready to greet her adoring fans. Her hair is curled and blowing in the wind, ready for a thousand photos to be snapped by the raging paparazzi.

The fact that they made Hawkgirl still look sporty and hardcore is one of the best parts of this DC Bombshells Pop. This is a really huge step from the other Hawkgirl Pop out there, and manages to make itself stand out in a great way. Not to mention those cute little stripes under her right eye, it makes her look fierce.
Her classic colors and basic design are left intact, though it is a bit more modest. This wouldn’t be Hawkgirl without her trusty mechanical wings and harness, and they really put in a nice amount of detail to help make it look both believable and stylish.

This DC Bombshells Pop takes a bit of a different turn than the rest. Instead of presenting as innocent or cutesey, they have Catwoman fitting into the sexy housewife persona, and it is simply meow-gical.
The 1940s were not a great era for women politically, though it definitely was fashion wise. Catwoman is decked out in the classic housewife regalia of a simple dress, glasses, and string of pearls, but she isn’t going to be cooking any men their dinner.

Often known as “the Joker’s daughter”, Duela Dent certainly looks the part in this crazy rendition of her character. Batman Funko Pop
A noir detective look is the perfect addition to the DC Bombshells Pop line, and if you were going to add another male, then it had better have been this. There is not a better option than Bruce Wayne caught mid- movement, cape swept back and trilby hat ready for business. The bat symbol on his vest adds a nice adorable marker in case you were confused as to whom he is, and the grappling hook means he’s ready for action.
The colors to this DC Bombshells Pop are the nice classic blue and grey, but really work together to give this that gritty noir feel we go looking for in this era of crime fighting.
